“When Pakistan was formed, I came here from India. I enrolled in a school and was very happy until one day the building where I lived collapsed. We had to move and my father could no longer afford the Rs.4/- it cost per month at school for tuition. I left my studies and started working. This is my biggest regret in life. One should never leave school. Had I managed to stay and become educated I would not have been on a footpath all these years. No one respects you if you are poor. You get pushed around and no one listens to you. No one at all. I tell everyone I see around me who has a kid, “Educate your child! Make sure they get the best of the best education.”
